It all started with a question...

Shop members

  • Miranda Hernandez

    Owner, Designer

    After the death of my firstborn child Adrian in 2017, I faced the taboo of grieving & loving a deceased child in modern society. Sea Glass Parenting is my effort to break that taboo while connecting with and supporting fellow bereaved families.

  • Bethany Gordon

    Shipper, Customer Service

    I am a mother to five beautiful children...three in heaven, one here on earth, and one on the way. Motherhood is messy and beautiful and I am so blessed to share this journey with all of you. Thank you!

Why all the elephants?

The elephant symbolizes many things in the bereaved community—
—Love, as in the love a mother elephant holds for her child;
—Remembrance, as in the old adage, "An elephant never forgets"; and
—Breaking of taboo, as in the way bereaved parents choose to speak about their children, even and especially after their death.

Elephants were also the theme of my son Adrian’s nursery, and it makes me happy to make this connection between my love and grief.
